You are cordially invited to join us for Guitars Save Lives, a lively evening of music and conversation featuring New Note Strummers, a group of Brighton-based people whose recovery from addiction has been facilitated by the transformative power of playing music together.
This lively event will be held on September 30th to mark the end of ‘recovery’ month to raise awareness of addiction, homelessness and mental health.
Launched by the charity New Note in January 2017, New Note Strummers has already helped to change the lives of many local musicians in recovery. Open to all from absolute beginners to veteran performers, this guitar group is a supportive, non-judgmental environment where participants reconnect with their love of music, find strength through community, and discover the motivation to make positive life changes.
Our September event marks the culmination of months of practice involving the group members lending each other much-needed support, sharing their stories and learning to play as a tightly-knit ensemble.
It promises to be a fun, emotion-packed evening as the musicians kick up a storm with their covers of classic songs and discuss their own eventful journeys from addiction to recovery.
Guitars Save Lives needs your support! This is our first event and we need your help in order to make it a success.
