New Note Projects is an award winning charity that uses music to strengthen the recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
Health practitioners and academics are championing our creative approach to recovery.
We run two projects:
The New Note Orchestra which is the first recovery orchestra in the world.
The New Note Strummers, a rocking guitar group.
Last year the New Note Orchestra and its creative director were nominated for the 2018 British Composer Award.

New Note Orchestra

Every Tuesday between 7-9pm at St Luke’s, 64 Old Shoreham Road, Brighton, BN1 5DD.

We have beginners and experienced players. No musical training is required.

Musical Exercises…

We believe no-one can play a wrong note. Everyone gets creative.

Having a jam…

One person starts with a grain of an idea, we then turn it into something beautiful.

Every 12 weeks or so, we showcase our newly composed music for the public.

On behalf of all of us here at Nesta, and our partner Power to Change, I wanted to say an enormous thank you to  everyone in New Note Orchestra. We were already delighted that you had agreed to play for us. But in all honesty, I don’t think we ever imagined that the music was going to be so wonderful.  The audience were completely spellbound, and I know it was the highlight of the day for many of them.
